Hi everyone, I had recently bought a Dm7020Hd v2. Yesterday I try to install CCcam & dFlash & also an old PLi image by using Dcc and DccE2, result unsuccessful. Then I use DreamUp but it got stuck at calculating checksum for a very long time.

So I turn-off the Dreambox and use the browser method, initially it seem ok but when come to rebooting, it just hangs there for a very long time. So again I turn-off the Dreambox and turn-on again, sadly to say it can’t boot-up anymore, the display show the following,

(My IP address)
** SERIAL MODE ** “
I try again to install the latest image by ‘http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de’, it didn’t work anymore. I had recorded many drama series which I have not watched yet. I know nothing about this dreambox technology, could someone help me please!

I think with using and old Pli Image you have corrupt the boot-loader. Pli do not have Images for the V2 box.
So use the browser method and install the boot-loader
2 Dreambox-secondstage 88-r12.0 - dm7020hd (Bootloader)

This loads very fast and after this load a new image and only use V2 Images.

If it is a 7020 HD V2 , than i must disapoint you. There is no openpli image for V2 machines. You can try Openatv or another.

Thanks LuxSat! By using browser method means using Chrome Browser and login with my IP address right? I did accordingly but it shows the following,
“INVALID IMAGE (YOU NEED A DM7020HDv2 IMAGE) “
So I stop it and do another flashing with DreamUp using this image,” release-dm7020hdv2-4.0.0.nfi “. After successfully flashing it, I perform the installing of the boot-loader again by browser but again it show the above message. I continue with the installation, but it just hangs at the step, “ Uploading….”. I guess it is not installing at all. What should I do next, please teach me!

But the boot-loader is a ipk file which I cant flash using the Browser method and DreamUp, is it to use Ecc E2? But my Ecc E2 can't connect to Ftp (Telnet is connected), how can i make it connect again?

I did accordingly but boot loader 88 file is a .ipk file. I cant use Dreamup or browser to flash and also not Dcc e2 as i not able to connect the Ftp. Please help!

If you have installed the boot loader 86 and you can see the IP on the box then first load a new V2 Image.

Who told you to access your dreambox with Dcc E2 or Dcc for a new image ? <nono>
You have to use "a" browser or Dreamup, and the the ip adres is showing on the display of the box

Sorry, I had installed the Boot-Loader 86 then restart. Next, install the Boot-Loader 88 by Dcc as instructed by LuxSat. But Boot Loader 88 is .ipk file which i will not be able to install it by using browser and DreamUp. Only Dcc Program can do that, but my Dcc could recognise my Dreambox, when i do a search it only can find the ip address and not its name which is Dm7020Hd.

If you have installed the boot loader 86 and you can see the IP on the box then first load a new V2 Image.
I did accordingly which install the V2 Image at the last stage and the installation is successful. But when i restart it still cant boot up, and the Lcd still show this,
“ dreambox
(My IP address)
*** STOP *** “
What should i do next?

Use DreamUp 1.3.3.11
Conect the box with DreamUp 1.3.3.11 and I think you will find repair of bad sectors under extra.
This will repair the bad sector coursed bij Pli
And if everything is well your box will restart
The error problem is a Jffs2-block size that is used by open Pli to boot and not by Original Images

So I can draw from that the repair has done its job and that after loading a new V2 Image everything worked.

Always Look on our website and in particular use only V2 Images for the Dreambox 7020Hd v2, all the Images on our website are Original Images.

Sorry to bother you again, got 1 more help, how can i make the Dreambox able to read Chinese Characters in EPG? There are many Chinese show that is written in Chinese Characters. I bought this set in Switzerland. In the Language function there is no Chinese too. If only it could read Chinese Characters it will be great, as it will be very easy for me when i am programming the timer recording.

Give it a try with the Web Interface page of your dreambox (ip adres dreambox in browser)
you can watch the epg and and also ad a timer.
when you are lucky, the pc will show the Chinese Characters in the EPG when present on the pc

You are Great, I found this Webinterface plugin under "For OE 1.6 Images", can i install it to my Dm7020Hdv2 with this image, " newnigma2_stable_dm7020hdv2_v4.0.9.nfi" ? And those plugin under " for OE 2.0 Images", can i install them also?
By the way, which image is most recommended?

You only can use OE 2.0 plug-ins for OE 2.0 Images.
The webinterface plug-in is already on your box , just ( ip from the Dreambox in the browser of the Pc )
Newnigma is a good Image , myself use Dreamelite

The cams are used for reading subscription cards
Over here the CCcam 2.3.0 ( Only For OE 2.0 Image´s ) is the best to use.
Also the Oscam is good however not so easy in use.
Just use the cam that is suitable for your image

i have new 7020hd v2
i have tryed another img put dad have not that same ssl 89, when i start the dreambox i get a Picture on the dreambox whu tells (dreambox 2nd failed )
what can I do.HELP <Please>

Reboot with a 7020hd v2 Image , use only the V2 Images
If your bootloader 89 don't work you can also download and install it before installing the Image.
Install it just like you do with an Image it will load very fast.
